Palm Beach Opera is working with the Palm Beach County Food Bank to collect nonperishable food items at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts during the family opera performance of Gioachino Rossini’s Cinderella.
The Palm Beach County Food Bank will also be hosting an education station in the lobby before the performance where children can work on art projects while learning about food insecurity in Palm Beach County.
In Palm Beach County, there are over 100 agencies that take on the responsibility of feeding the hungry. These agencies range from operating small food pantries (that distribute canned goods and perishable food) to larger soup kitchens that prepare at least one hot meal per day. These organizations are the customers of the Palm Beach County Food Bank. Any food bank should aspire to distribute as much food to its customers as possible. The Palm Beach County Food Bank, Inc. is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) Florida corporation and receives 100% of each contribution.
Palm Beach Opera is dedicated to producing live opera at an international standard of excellence and to enriching the life of the communities it serves with a diverse offering of educational programs. Founded in 1961, the fully professional Palm Beach Opera presents main stage performances at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach and is a proud member of the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County.
