Come discover one of the best kept secrets in West Palm Beach and spend the day enjoying nature in the beautiful Grassy Waters Preserve on Saturday from 10:30 am-2:30 pm. Transportation, admission, and tours are FREE and guests are welcome.
Grassy Waters Preserve is a 23 square mile wetlands ecosystem that serves as the freshwater supply for the City of West Palm Beach. Located about 20 minutes outside downtown at 8264 Northlake Blvd, Grassy Waters is a mosaic of wetlands, tree islands, and forested hammocks.
The trip will feature:
• Trail hiking on boardwalk and natural trails
• Canoe trips
• Guided marsh walks including birding
You could see storks, eagles, great blue herons, and white – tailed deer… maybe even a gator!
There will be a free bus to take us there, or you can drive your own car (directions here). The bus will pick everyone up at the Mandel Library on Clematis at 10:30 am on Saturday. Please RSVP if you are taking the bus so that we can plan appropriately.
A delicious lunchbox prepared by Ganache will be available for $5 (pay at the event). Please order your lunch with your RSVP and we will have it ready for you. Also, we recommend wearing closed toe shoes and bringing sunscreen and bug spray. Bikes are allowed but dogs are not.
