Last Sunday the World Polo League kicked off their Sunday Afternoon Polo at Grand Champions Polo Club.
Go down Lake Worth Rd for as far as you can go, and then swing a right and you will have arrived (just punch this into your GPS: 100 Lake Worth Rd, Wellington, FL)
Yes, I know it’s a bit of a drive from Clematis Street, but I think you’ll be impressed by the beautiful Polo fields and the quiet that’s only broken by the sounds of the horses, music and announcer. It’s an experience that you simply can’t get in West Palm Beach.
The Festivities were kicked off by Wellington Mayor Ann Gerwig, Grand Champions owner and president Melissa Ganzi, Polo Players and their celebrity guests.
The World Polo League is the only 26-goal polo in the world outside of Argentina. The Sun Sentinel article talks about how WPL is keeping 26-goal Polo alive in the US.
The events are all live-streamed on ChuckerTV. Here’s WPL 2020 schedule:
The event is sponsored by Seminole Casino Coconut Creek, and the cool new CoCo Cabana Stadium provides 3 levels of entertainment.
Tickets range from $15 to $250 (top level of the Coco Cabana). Sunday featured WPL games at 4 p.m. at Grand Champions Polo Club are on sale now at www.worldpolo.org.
